The IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) International Leadership Summits (ILS) are locally organized events conducted at a small to medium scale across the globe.

They are a cornerstone of IEEE WIE’s global initiatives, designed to build a stronger global community through focusing on Empowerment, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Emerging/Disruptive Technology.

With up to ten hosted annually, each summit offers a unique platform for IEEE/WIE members and technology professionals to connect, exchange insights, address challenges, and enhance their skills.

IEEE Gujarat Section (registered u/s 80G) comes under Asia Pacific Region, the Region 10 of IEEE. In 2004 Gujarat Section was adjudged the Outstanding Small Section of Region 10.

The section has emphasis on quality programmes and such programmes are regular feature for professional development of its members. The section’s participative philosophy allows students to make programmes as per their own need. Section encourages students and has instituted awards for student members.

Established in 2009 at Sarvajanik College of Engineering & Technology, Surat, the IEEE SCET Student Branch functions under the IEEE Gujarat Section and is one of the region’s most active branches, conducting 50+ technical and leadership initiatives annually.

Key Achievements & Recognitions

• Selected to host the IEEE International Leadership Summit 2026 through competitive grant support.
• Honoured with the Best Student Branch , 2026 recognition at IEEE SAMPARK.
• Received the Outstanding Student Branch 2025 Award from the IEEE India Council at IEEE INDICON 2025.
• Secured various international grants and technical support from the IEEE SPS, IEEE VTS, the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities, and the IEEE SIGHT for student innovation initiatives.
• Selected host institution for the IEEE QT³ Global Initiative.
