Q: When and where is the summit taking place, and what are the key dates?

A: The 2026 IEEE Ghana WIE International Leadership Summit will be held at Ashesi University, Berekuso, Ghana.

  • Conference Dates: 4th–6th June 2026 (Thursday afternoon to Saturday afternoon)
  • Registration Opens: 24th April 2026
  • Discounted Registration Closes: 30th May 2026

 

FORMAT & CONTENT

Q: What is the format of the summit?

A: The three-day summit will feature introductory and plenary sessions, interactive workshops, panel discussions, storytelling sessions, networking dinners, and an optional cultural excursion. Sessions will explore empowerment, entrepreneurship, emerging technologies and strategies for achieving balance while growing professionally in STEM.

Q: Will there be opportunities for presentations or publications?
A: Currently, there are no opportunities for paper or poster presentations. Any updates will be shared on the official summit page if this changes.

 

REGISTRATION

Q: How do I register or participate in the summit?
A: Participants can register via the Registration form after registration opens. Once registered, participants will receive program updates, logistical information, and session details. Q: What are the registration fees?
A: Registration fees vary by participant type. Refer to the registration fee table here. Registration covers accommodation/transportation, meals, summit t-shirt, souvenirs, access to sessions and a digital certificate.

Q: Are refunds available if I can’t attend after registering?

A: Unless otherwise stated, no refunds will be issued upon registering. Please review the terms carefully before completing registration.

 

LOGISTICS & SUPPORT

Q: Are there recommended accommodations for summit participants?

A: On‑campus accommodation at Ashesi University is available only for undergraduate students. Professionals and other participants are expected to commute from Accra or arrange their own lodging. Full details on off-campus options, bookings, and logistics can be found on the summit venue & travel page

Q: What should I wear or bring?

A: Wear what you would normally, for a day at work or school. Bring essentials such as a travel adapter, a refillable water bottle, notetaking materials, and be ready to network with other participants.

Q: Will transportation be provided during the conference?

A: Shuttle transportation will be arranged for participants who register for it, particularly professionals or students commuting from Accra. You will be asked to share your accommodation details in advance to help with route planning. Final transport schedules will be shared prior to the summit. Q: Are meals provided during the summit?

A: Lunch and select coffee breaks will be provided during the summit. Dinner is only included for students being housed on campus. Participants attending the optional Saturday cultural excursion will manage meals for that activity on their own. Specific meal details will be shared with registered participants.

Q: Are there special arrangements for persons with disabilities?

A: The summit aims to be accessible and inclusive. If you require specific accommodations, please indicate this during registration or contact the organizing team in advance.

Q: Do I need a visa to travel to Ghana?

A: Visa requirements vary by nationality. Please check with your country’s Ghanaian embassy or consulate. The summit team may provide invitation letters upon request for visa applications.

Q: When should I plan to arrive and depart?
A: We recommend checking in on the morning of June 4th and checking out on June 6th, after the summit concludes in the afternoon of June, 6th.

A: Yes. The summit includes networking opportunities, fireside sessions for students, and interactive workshops designed to foster engagement between participants and speakers.
