About the Summit
The IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) International Leadership Summits (ILS) were launched in 2015 to provide regional opportunities for networking, mentorship, and collaboration. The 2026 Chengdu Summit focuses on Leadership in Engineering, bringing together world-class experts to inspire the next generation of innovators.
About the Hosts
This summit is proudly hosted by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in collaboration with the IEEE Chengdu Section. UESTC is a premier institution renowned for its excellence in electronic information science and technology.
Name & Title: Professor Hua Fan
Role: General Chair

Biography:
Professor Hua Fan is a Professor at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) and serves as the current Chair of the IEEE WIE Chengdu Section Affinity Group. A recipient of the Young Changjiang Scholar award, she is an IEEE Senior Member and an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I. Her leadership and academic excellence drive the vision of the 2026 Chengdu Summit, empowering women in the electronic information sciences.
Name & Title: Professor Qiuyan Jin
Role: General Vice-Chair

Biography:
Professor Qiuyan Jin is a Professor at Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) and serves as the General Vice-Chair for the 2026 IEEE WIE ILS Chengdu. As a distinguished researcher and leader in her field, Professor Jin has made significant contributions to the local engineering community. Her expertise and dedication to professional development are central to organizing this year’s summit and fostering a collaborative environment for women engineers in the region.
Name & Title: Professor Yuru Geng
Role: Summit Treasurer

Biography:
Professor Yuru Geng is an Associate Professor at Chengdu Technological University (CDTU) and serves as the Treasurer for the 2026 IEEE WIE ILS Chengdu. She is an active member of the local academic community and a council member of the Chengdu Automation Society. With expertise in intelligent sensing and automated systems, Professor Geng oversees the financial operations of the summit, ensuring a sustainable and professional event for all participants.
